Monday Apr 06, 2020
Boy, oh boy, we had a lot of fun talking (remotely!!) with this week's guest, Yusong Liu (@yusongl, Maybe Don't) about the 2011 film The Woman in the Fifth. From Pawel Pawlikowski (director of acclaimed films Ida and Cold War), this film follows the story of a troubled man/author trying to reconnect with his daughter in France. But there's much more to it than that.
Of course, Ethan Hawke is playing said writer, and he has not one, but two European love interests. Also the supernatural is involved?! You love to see it!

Hi everyone! We hope you're all staying safe and healthy at home! a week or two before we locked down, we had special guests John Flynn & Mark Rennie (Two Old Queens) join us to talk about the 2009 vampire flick, Daybreakers. We do kind of categorize this as a zombie/plague kind of movie, so if you don't really want to hear about that right now, we totally understand and we'll see you all next week!
That being said, we had a really great time talking about this pretty bonkers movie starring Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, and (of course) Ethan Hawke! Let us know what you think of the episode or the movie or whatever you want on any social media platform @hawkeyespod. Cacaw!
