Monday Jun 29, 2020
Monday Jun 29, 2020
We're joined once again by friend and three-peat guest, Gio Bayani (@hoi_pinoy)! And this time we're talking about Andrew Niccol's 2014 film Good Kill where Ethan Hawke plays a drone pilot who's going through both personal and professional turmoil. Was it too heavy handed? Was the message confusing? Was Zoe Kravitz way too young to be Ethan Hawke's love interest? Find out what we think about all of these things on this week's episode!

Also, as we mentioned, we'd love it if you could donate to an organization supporting black lives or to a bail fund to help out protestors. Here's the link we mentioned to donate to bail funds to support protestors across the country: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bailfunds

Episode 49: Boyhood (w/Jared Goldstein)
Monday Jun 01, 2020
Monday Jun 01, 2020
It feels very trivial and unimportant to post an episode of our dumb show about Ethan Hawke movies while all of this is going on, but we recorded this a couple weeks ago and if it brings anyone joy or comfort to listen to us talk about Ethan Hawke, then I'm glad for that at least.
We recorded this episode 2 weeks ago so we don't discuss the protests or police abuse that has been going on over the last few days. So I want to say here that there is a lot of important work to be done right now, and we've tried to help where we can by donating, emailing our city council members with regard to the budget, and sharing resources/information with friends and on social media. If you're reading this, please do the same.
If you're not listening to podcasts right now or just not this silly one, we completely understand and support you! If you are and need something light to think about for an hour, here is our episode about the 2014 film, Boyhood, with guest Jared Goldstein (@heyjaredhey). He joins us to talk about this iconic Linklater film that spans 14 years of Ethan Hawke - a journey not unlike ours throughout this podcast!

Monday May 18, 2020
Monday May 18, 2020
This week we're getting away from all of our troubles and heading to Sofia, Bulgaria! That's right, we're talking about 2013's Getaway starring our very own Ethan Hawke and ... Selena Gomez?
We're lucky to be joined by Clare Loughran (Inside The Disney Vault) to talk about action movies, DCOMs, and pretty much every movie that isn't Getaway.

Monday May 11, 2020

This week we have Mike Benner (@michaelgbenner, Air Buds & That's The Show) on to talk about one of his favorite contemporary film franchises - The Purge! Specifically, we're talking about the first film in the series which stars a lot of people we know and love from tv and of course Ethan Hawke!
So go subscribe, rate, review, and blessed be the new founding fathers!

Episode 45: Shakespeare Uncovered - Macbeth with Ethan Hawke
Monday Apr 27, 2020
Monday Apr 27, 2020
Don't be fooled by the title of this episode, we did not have Ethan Hawke on the show this week! But we did talk about a little PBS program he did called Shakespeare Uncovered where he did a deep dive on Macbeth!
Unfortunately our original recording of this episode was lost to the technology gods, so we have this quick solo re-record for you. As always, cacaw!

Episode 44: Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God
Monday Apr 20, 2020
Monday Apr 20, 2020
We're flying solo this week, so we do a bit of a quarantine/Ethan Hawke-related check-in. Then we dive into the 2012 documentary "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God," which explores the systematic abuse of children by Catholic priests through the lens of a group of boys at a school for the deaf in 1970s Wisconsin. Ethan Hawke (among other actors) lends his voice to one of the men as he tells his story.
